RE : INCREASE IN GENERAL CARGO TRANSPORT RATES

Please note that SFFLA have released press statement to leading newspaper in Malaysia that our members will have to increase the transportation costs due to the increasing fuel costs effective from 1st May, 2006.

Irregardless of when the leading newspaper published, the Association would back members to increase their transportation rates by the agreed amount up to 20%.

RE : 1) FREE TRADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN MALAYSIA AND ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN – ORDER 2006
2) CUSTOMS AMENDMENT –PROHIBITION OF IMPORTS
3) ASEAN HARMONISED TARIFF NOMENCLATURE AND COMMON EFFECTIVE PREFERENTIAL TARIFF –ORDER 2006

Please be informed that there a several amendment as per above.

SFFLA will be charging RM8.00 for all the 3 items to recover photostating cost.

The CDR for these 3 items will be charge @ RM5.00 per disk.

Please be informed that SFFLA will be organizing the Handling, Storage and Transportation of Dangerous Goods on 15th May 2006 (Monday).

This course will be claimable via the SBL Scheme. The Course fee is RM 300.00 for members and RM 400.00 for non-members.

With reference to the Member Circular 022/2006 dated 30th March, 2006 & 025/2006 dated 6th April, 2006.

SFFLA have an oral confirmation from Customs that the Manifest Validation by SMK (K1 against K4) would be temporary deferred till further notice.

Should there be any problem please seek the assistance from HELPDESK personnel.

The formal confirmation of this would be given later.

SFFLA regret to inform that the Manifest Validation by SMK, K1 against K4 remain as planned and it will not be deferred.

DO NOT USE LPK’S CODE
Use only the Shipping Agent Code

For LCL submission leave HOUSE B/L EMPTY (BLANK)
Use only OCEAN B/L No.
(According to Customs their computer system could accept more than one entry per Ocean B/L No.)

Dear Sir,

RE : IMPLEMENTATION OF SMK K3 MODULE AT PORT KLANG SELANGOR

Please be informed that the Association had received a letter from Dagang Net on the Implementation of SMK K3 Module electronically at Customs station Pelabuhan Utara, Klang (B10) Pelabuhan Barat, Klang (B18), Pelabuhan Selatan (B11), and Jeti Asa Niaga (B1X) as the sending and receiving station effective 15th March 2006.

However, Customs will still be accepting and processing the K3 documents manually until 17th April, 2006.
